Job Description:

Overall Aim: Facilitate service user access to treatment and community resources to increase recovery and social capital, by supporting service users and their support networks within their local community.

  • Support the delivery and increase the availability of substance misuse screening, information and advice, and onwards referral for individuals engaged in MESMAC’s services.
  • Ensure that MESMAC services are accessible, acceptable, and appropriate to people for whom their substance use is a problem.
  • Develop and actively champion a Chemsex pathway, training, and support within MESMAC and the wider treatment system locally, regionally, and nationally as required, including LGBTQ+ services.

Main Responsibilities & Duties (list not exhaustive – please refer to the application pack for more details):

  • Carry out triage/screening assessments with service users and make appropriate referrals.
  • Work collaboratively with partner agencies e.g. ROADS and Project 6 to undertake shared assessments, key working, and interventions to promote individual service user progression from engagement through structured treatment to self-sustained recovery.
  • Work closely and collaboratively within the multi-disciplinary team MESMAC and externally, providing advice/information to managers and other colleagues.
  • Develop and deliver quality programs and packages of work/psychosocial interventions that meet local needs across both group work and one-to-one settings.
  • Identify and prevent potential harm to service users and others by following local and organisational safeguarding policies and procedures, including referral to and engagement with relevant safeguarding authorities.
  • Promote visible recovery across the service and ensure peer support opportunities are relevant and accessible for service users.
  • Facilitate the establishment and maintenance of groups/forums for service users to reflect on common concerns and act to meet these.
  • Promote, adhere to, and embody our vision, mission, and values in all your work.

Salary: £30,559 per annum
