Job Title: Year 6 Teacher
Location: Hull
Salary Range:
£120 - £184.88 per day (Depending on experience)
Start time: ASAP
Contract:
Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time

GSL Education are looking for a motivated and experienced Year 6 Teacher to join a vibrant team within a large Primary Academy. You will be responsible for preparing students for their SATs, providing high-quality teaching, and creating a supportive and inclusive classroom atmosphere.

Responsibilities of the Year 6 Teacher:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and comprehensive lessons that align with the national curriculum for Year 6.
  • Prepare students effectively for their SATs, ensuring they feel confident and well-equipped for the assessments.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback and adapting teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of the class.
  • Create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment where all students are encouraged to reach their full potential.
  • Implement and uphold effective behaviour management strategies to maintain a productive classroom.
  • Communicate regularly with parents/guardians to discuss student progress and address any concerns.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices, resources, and strategies for teaching and preparing students for exams.
  • Participate in school meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities.

Requirements of the Year 6 Teacher:

  • Have UKQualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Proven experience teaching Year 6 or upper Key Stage 2, with a strong understanding of the national curriculum.
  • Experience in preparing students for SATs and knowledge of assessment standards.
  • Strong classroom management and the ability to engage and motivate students.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A proactive and collaborative approach to working with other teachers and support staff.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of safeguarding and child protection practices.
  • Have an updated CV and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
