Position Details

• Role: Court Usher
• Hours: 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday (08:30-17:00)
• Duration: Until 28/04, with the possibility of extension or becoming permanent for the right person
• Pay Rate: £11.44 per hour
• Location: London Road, Southampton, SO15 2XQ
• Start Date: ASAP (pending vetting)

Key Responsibilities

• Preparing and clearing courtrooms before and after hearings.
• Assisting court clerks and ensuring all parties are ready for hearings.
• Supporting judges, legal teams, defendants, and their families with professionalism and discretion.
• Managing juror and witness interactions, including swearing in witnesses and jurors.
• Communicating effectively with barristers, judiciary, and court personnel to ensure cases proceed smoothly.
• Performing basic administrative duties, such as answering calls, handling post, and using IT systems.

Additional Information

This role is subject to vetting, including an enhanced DBS check and an activity check for the last three years.
