Markets – Controls and Regulatory Management is looking for a Data Analyst & Visualisation specialist to join our team, to build high performance Analytical Dashboards (among others) used by senior stakeholders across our franchise.
This Data Visualization Sr Analyst will work within one or more teams across business, risk and control teams and technology teams playing the key role as a subject matter expert to design, validate, develop, and deploy both minimum viable products (MVP) as well as ready to deploy solutions.
This role assesses, evaluates, and analyzes data challenges and provides recommendations on their resolution. Requires in-depth understanding of data and reporting. Requires good analytical skills to filter, prioritize and validate potentially complex and dynamic material from various sources to monitor and certify authoritative data sources and remediate data concerns.
What you'll do:
- Work with stakeholders to design, develop, test and implement impactful Tableau dashboards for the Risk and Control function.
- Collaborate with business and IT teams to build technical solutions, using a variety of data sources to create vivid and impactful analytical dashboards.
- Design, build and enhance high-performance, data-intensive solutions from data acquisition to rendering, visualization, and distribution.
- Build and enhance existing data quality processes to ensure accuracy, timeliness and completeness of various dashboards and reports.
- Design and analyze complex reports to satisfy management requirements.
- Lead reengineering efforts in business methodology, strategy, and organizational goals.
- Manage overall projects and contribute to identifying solutions for business reporting issues.
- Provide in-depth and sophisticated analysis with interpretive thinking to define problems and develop innovative solutions.
- Act as advisor or coach to stakeholders and end users in processes and procedures that will enable effective usage of the reporting and self-service capabilities.
- Influence strategic functional decisions through advice, counsel or provided services that have a direct impact on the business.
- Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
What you'll bring:
- Relevant experience, Banking or Finance industry preferred.
- Broad understanding of the business technology landscape, the ability to design reports, and strong analytical skills.
- Comprehensive understanding of how own area and others collectively integrate to contribute towards achieving business objectives.
- Excellent understanding of Tableau, SQL and Python; Tableau certification preferred or similar data visualisation tool.
- Ability to read/write to database systems with experience in various data formats.
- Experience with ETL processes and Task/Job Schedulers, with ability to troubleshoot technical issues independently.
- Understanding of various data and reporting flows across several risk areas to identify EUCs and lead/execute remediation with systemic implementations in partnership with Technology.
- Good foundation in Data Science key concepts and various libraries.
- Adaptable, creative, resourceful, well organized team player with strong work ethics.
- Effective communicator, able to develop and deliver multi-mode communications that convey a clear understanding of the unique needs of different audiences; able to drive consensus and influence relationships at all levels.
- Effective collaborator, able to build relationships and partnerships with others to meet shared objectives.
- Experience in managing and implementing successful projects.
- Proficient in the use of basic Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Education:
- Bachelor's/University degree or equivalent experience.
- Certification in Tableau is an added advantage.
