Scope:
Working within the Global Technical Innovations Group (GTIG) the job holder’s key responsibility will be to support both the European Manufacturing Organisation (EMO) and GTIG operations in delivering upon their objectives. Role may also include projects affecting the wider business including USA, Puerto Rico and Costa Rica.

Job Summary:
The holder will be responsible for the investigation, development and delivery of advanced manufacturing technology opportunities to support the business requirements of manufacturing processes and new product development.

A Senior Engineering position with full responsibility for the supply of “state of the art” technology to support the Manufacturing process development globally.

Responsible for the technical quality of work undertaken in projects both in terms of time, quality and cost.

Essential Functions & Accountabilities

  • Is recognised internally as an advanced practitioner of their technical skills.
  • Project manages projects of reasonable complexity, including budgets and resources (internal and external), if appropriate.
  • Provides significant technical contribution to the European Technical Innovations Group.
  • Provides significant technical contribution to projects.
  • To be self-motivating and pro-active in the searching and awareness of new technology.
  • Work closely with the R&D activities globally to ensure the effective development of industrial processes to support new product/material developments.
  • Participate in global multi-functional project teams as an expert/module leader to ensure the effective delivery of business objectives.
  • Is responsible for mentoring the technical discipline, personal development and career progression of other staff, as required.
  • Supports/ leads the selection and development of the best vendors to meet the requirements of the business.
  • Supports/ leads and delivers new technology projects to time and cost that deliver new, robust and commercially beneficial processes.
  • Approval and management for all the technical content of the Design History Files including regulatory documentation, such as qualification protocols and specifications.
  • Supports/ leads Design Review Process and FMEA process for projects where appropriate.
  • Attends appropriate management meetings and reports on projects.

Travel Requirements
This role involved travel to local UK site, as well as travel globally (less than 5%).
