Workplace description: This elegant mansion in the beautiful countryside of Surrey has a peaceful location surrounded by green gardens, yet only a few minutes from the centre of Woking. The stylish bedrooms each have a flat-screen TV, work desk, luxury modern bathrooms with complimentary toiletries, and high-speed Wi-Fi available in public areas. Guests can relax in the bar or enjoy a meal within the hotel's restaurant, which offers a seasonal menu using locally sourced ingredients, or relax on the terrace overlooking the manicured gardens.

Main duties and responsibilities:

We are looking for a highly motivated Operations Manager to join our management team on site. This role deputises for the General Manager and will require the ability to work shifts inclusive of weekends and late nights.

Primary Responsibilities:

  1. Oversee day-to-day operations of the hotel, including Front Office, Food and Beverage, Conference and Banqueting, and Kitchens.
  2. Maintain cost controls across the operational departments of the property in line with company ratios and targets.
  3. Work with the maintenance and estates team to maintain a high level of health and safety compliance in the hotel.
  4. Continue to maintain brand standards across the site to ensure guest satisfaction.
  5. Handle day-to-day issues and complaints with discretion and professionalism.
  6. Provide hands-on support to all departments where necessary.

Essential criteria: This role will report to the General Manager and requires a candidate who wants to lead a team from the front and develop relationships with both guests and their team.

A successful candidate will have:
  1. Previous management experience in hotels to a minimum of Head of Department level in an operational department.
  2. High level leadership skills with the ability to develop and train staff.
  3. Proven experience delivering and running weddings and exclusive high-end events of 100+ covers.
  4. Knowledge of Opera and Micros systems is desired; however, not essential.
