Job description

Davenham have an exciting opportunity available for a Production Manager to join our team based in Fairham, Nottingham. You will join us on a full time, permanent basis and in return, you will receive a competitive salary of £60,000 - £70,000 per annum.

About the role

Hours: 39 hours Monday to Thursday, 7.30am to 5.30pm.

As our Production Manager, you will oversee and lead the production team to ensure the efficient, high-quality, and timely manufacture of Davenham's electrical distribution and control solutions. The role requires a proactive leader with strong technical expertise and operational management experience in manufacturing environments.

Your key duties as our Production Manager will include:

  1. Plan, manage, and optimise daily production activities to meet project schedules and customer requirements.
  2. Ensure production processes align with the company's commitment to quality and efficiency.
  3. Champion 5S principles, maintaining a safe and efficient work environment, applying continuous improvement methodology.
  4. Lead, motivate, and manage a multidisciplinary production team.
  5. Foster a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and high performance.
  6. Uphold Davenham's reputation for excellence by ensuring all products meet quality standards and regulatory compliance.
  7. Oversee inspections and address any quality concerns promptly.
  8. Analyse production workflows to identify areas for improvement and implement lean manufacturing practices.
  9. Collaborate with engineering and design teams to streamline manufacturing processes.
  10. Manage inventory levels and ensure the availability of raw materials, tools, and equipment.
  11. Work closely with procurement and supply chain teams to prevent delays.
  12. Enforce compliance with HSE regulations and promote a culture of workplace safety.
  13. Conduct risk assessments and ensure safe working practices are followed.
  14. Monitor production costs and maintain departmental budgets and provide reports to relevant stakeholders as required.
  15. Prepare regular reports on production performance, challenges, and opportunities.

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a dynamic project that combines the stability and resources of a large corporate entity, Legrand, with the close-knit, agile culture of a smaller company. While the company has been acquired by Legrand, the project will retain its Davenham branding, allowing you to enjoy the best of both worlds: the support and growth potential of a global leader, alongside the personal touch and collaborative atmosphere of a smaller, more intimate team.
