Become a GCSE English and Maths Tutor in Harrow, Pinner, Edgware, Wembley

Salary: £25 per hour

Hours: 6-12 hours per week

Location: Harrow, Wembley, Pinner, Edgware

Tutors are required to…

  1. deliver active lessons using a whiteboard in a classroom setting (materials, lesson plans and worksheets are available for group and one-to-one lessons)
  2. mark homework
  3. provide feedback to parents about their children’s progress
  4. inspire children through positive criticism
Skills and Experience Required

The ideal applicant will be…

  1. confident, enthusiastic, approachable, a good communicator who works well with other leaders
  2. someone who takes initiative
  3. good at multitasking
  4. able to work under pressure and towards set deadlines
  5. someone who is punctual and reliable
  6. preferably but not necessarily well-versed in the National Curriculum and experienced in working with or teaching children
  7. UK GCSEs with minimum B or 6 grade for English and Maths mandatory. Minimum A or 7 grade for Science if teaching Science.

DBS certificate required, it must meet the following criteria:

  1. Less than 2 years old;
  2. Include child barred list;
  3. Position applied for must be within the child workforce sector

(Note: If it doesn’t meet the criteria then Big Fish Tutors will need to apply for a new DBS on the candidate’s behalf, which the candidate is required to pay for)
