Job description

Production Operative

Location: Stockton - On - Tees (Workshop)

Salary: Temp to Perm, £12 per hour

Our client is looking for someone with hands-on experience who can use general hand tools (drills, grinders, spanners, etc.). The right candidate will also have knowledge of welding but does not have to be a qualified welder.

Responsible for: Manufacture and Assembly in accordance with the company quality and engineering standards.

Purpose: To achieve the business objectives to manufacture quality products, on time and to budget.

Principal Accountabilities:

  1. Produce quality mechanical products from manufacturing/fabrication packages in accordance with company procedures.
  2. Ensure manufacturing is on schedule and in accordance with the company quality and engineering standards.
  3. Develop open and constructive working relationships with all colleagues.
  4. Work safely at all times and in accordance with the company standard OHSAS18001:2007.

Skills and Knowledge Required:

  1. Mechanical engineering and/or manufacturing experience.
  2. Good understanding of fabrication processes.
  3. Ability to weld is advantageous but not essential.
  4. Good organisational ability.
  5. Communication skills.
  6. Persistence and ability to achieve results under pressure.
  7. Quality focused.
  8. Being flexible and honest.

Working Conditions:

  1. Workshop environment.
  2. Required to exceed normal working hours and be flexible.

Systems and Equipment Used:

  1. Various hand-held power tools.
  2. Hand tools.
  3. Workshop machinery: Lathe, Pillar drill, Band saw, bench grinder, hydraulic press, etc.
