NPD Chef (Food Manufacturing)

GBR Recruitment Ltd, are working in exclusive partnership with a well established progressive SME size food manufacturing company based in the heart of Northamptonshire, recruiting for a highly creative, highly innovative NPD Development Chef, to come up with new culinary delights to meet current market trends and tastes.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about creating new product lines that can be produced in volume for B2B and retail customer markets.

This role could suit someone working in a professional Chef role, working with food manufacturing, hospitality, restaurants, hotels, gastro pubs or a bistro type setting.

Duties:

1. Produce culinary delights for customers to sample and approve.
2. Develop fresh new ideas that can be turned from conceptual ideas into new production runs, ready for customers' shelves.
3. Create recipes that can be followed and produced on a high volume scale, ensuring the factory has the capability to deliver such quantities.
4. Producing specifications for the products developed in the NPD kitchen.
5. Maintaining a list of the core ingredients and measures for all new lines.
6. Ensure stock levels are kept in line with NPD requirements.
7. Ensure the development kitchen is audit ready at all times.
8. Attend production runs for new product launches.
9. Evaluate current food lines and look at ways to improve them (CI).
10. Deliver effective and professional customer food presentations.
11. Communicate professionally with internal teams and clients.
12. Work closely with the Process Technologists and Technical teams.
13. Liaise effectively with Production operations and Commercial teams.
14. Turn conceptual ideas into reality.

Attributes Desired:

1. Experienced in a NPD Chef or Creative Chef role or very similar.
2. A passionate foodie, who is up to date with current food trends and tastes.
3. Used to producing food that can be volumised (mass produced).
4. Food qualifications, plus time served within a professional kitchen.
5. Strong professional communicator at all levels.
6. Able to work within an SME sized business (flexible and adaptable).
