Job description

Are you an enthusiastic and ambitious Radiographer looking for an opportunity to develop your skills? If this is you, we would welcome your application to become part of the team at Dorset County Hospital.

We have vacancies for Band 5 Radiographers. The department has a development pathway in place for progression from Band 5 to Band 6.

We actively encourage all our Radiographers to develop their radiographic skills further and offer numerous opportunities to train in specialist modalities.

We pride ourselves on a supportive environment for all Diagnostic Imaging staff. There is in-house provision of education and training, including CPD evenings and post-graduate training opportunities. Radiographers will participate in the provision of a 24-hour, seven-day-a-week imaging service.

The Diagnostic Imaging Department is a cohesive, friendly, and forward-looking department. We are constantly striving to improve the service we offer our patients and are proud to have been awarded QSI accreditation.

At Dorset County Hospital, we welcome Radiographers into a friendly, supportive environment. We also enroll all new graduates into the Trust's preceptorship programme and allocate a mentor to guide new starters.

Dorset County Hospital is located in the county town of Dorchester, which has good rail links to Southampton, Bristol, and London, and boasts highly rated schools. Dorset is a delightful place to live and work, offering a choice of coast or country for leisure activities. Dorchester has undergone major refurbishment with many bars and restaurants providing evening entertainment. The seaside town of Weymouth is nearby, offering numerous water sports opportunities.

Our busy, modern hospital provides a full range of district general services and links with satellite units in five community hospitals. We are a designated trauma unit and part of the Wessex Trauma network. The hospital is nationally recognized for research and audit activity.

Radiographers will rotate around all areas of the general department, including ED, theatres, endoscopy, and the community hospitals.

The department prides itself on providing numerous opportunities for our Radiographers to develop their skills in specialist areas.
