Network Design Engineer

We are currently hiring for a Network Design Engineer. This is a permanent role based on-site in Basingstoke. This is a key role involving designing and implementing energy-efficient network solutions that optimise performance. Salary paying between £50K - £60K + Bonus + Benefits, depending on experience. This role requires SC Clearance - you will either hold current clearance or be eligible for Clearance.

As a Network Design Engineer, you will be responsible for researching, planning, and creating both high and low-level design artefacts for complex network solutions. You’ll work closely with our customers to develop compelling designs that meet their requirements, automate deployment where possible, and provide expert-level support through to resolution.

Responsibilities:

• Design high-quality network solutions and produce professional documentation.
• Develop architectural overview documents and detailed high-level and low-level designs.
• Automate deployment of network configurations and software components.
• Provide 4th Line support directly with vendors to ensure successful resolution.
• Conduct impact assessments and maintain solutions throughout the Customer Solution Lifecycle.

Skills Required:

• Strong experience with Cisco routing and switching appliances.
• Deep understanding of OSPF, EIGRP, and BGP routing protocols.
• Knowledge of NAT, GRE Tunnelling, DMVPN, Subnetting.
• Experience with secure infrastructure solutions.
• Previous experience with Juniper SRX and Fortinet FortiGate (advantageous).
• Familiarity with Cisco ASA and McAfee MFE appliances (advantageous).
