Management Accountant

As a crucial member of the finance team, the Management Accountant will play an essential part in assisting the Head of Finance to drive the continued success and expansion of STS Defence. The Management Accountant will be tasked with preparing financial reports for the senior management team, offering valuable insights into the business’s performance. By providing relevant financial analysis, this role will be supporting the company’s profitability and growth.

Duties:

1. Manage period end close activities in accordance with agreed timescales
2. Production of management accounts, P&L, Balance Sheet and Cashflow
3. Maintenance of Balance Sheet Control Account Reconciliation
4. Analysis and review of overheads providing commentary for senior management
5. Manage the annual Budget process
6. Assist with Group reporting on Cognos
7. Contribute to improving reporting and controlling processes
8. Maintain and reconcile monthly project accounting works orders
9. Maintain and review labour and overhead recovery rates
10. Ensure correct and timely allocation of work in progress/manufacturing overheads
11. Ensure compliance to overall financial procedures
12. Prepare detailed account analysis and variance reports

Skills:

1. Advanced Excel skills
2. Data Management with strong analytical and problem solving skills
3. AAT or CIMA qualified
4. Be able to work as part of a team but also take ownership to complete tasks independently
5. Excellent communication skills to build relationships with stakeholders
6. Ability to meet deadlines and produce high quality work in a fast paced environment
7. Bring a positive, enthusiastic and ‘can-do’ attitude to work

Additional:

1. Hold a full and clean UK drivers licence with the ability to travel across the UK as necessary
