An established industry player is seeking a Principal Clinical Psychologist to join their dynamic team. NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non-clinical professions and job roles. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included.
This role will provide a specialised clinical psychology service to clients and partners of the Glasgow Psychological Trauma Service, which includes specialist and national contracts that may require the Clinical Psychologist to provide clinical psychology duties beyond the NHS GG&C boundary including duties in Edinburgh.
The Principal Clinical Psychologist is required to provide highly specialist psychological assessment and therapy at the same time as offering advice and consultation on clients’ psychological care to non-psychologist colleagues and to other, non professional carers, working autonomously within professional guidelines and the overall framework of the team’s policies and procedures, across all sectors of care.
The post holder will utilise research skills for audit, policy and service development and research within the area served by the Trauma Service, provide clinical and professional supervision to trainees undertaking Doctoral training and undertake service development within own area of practice.
