UK - Remote (Occasional travel to head office 1-2 times per month)

Pivotal are proud to be working exclusively with one of the world’s leading Ed-Tech brands and one of the UK’s fastest-growing businesses. Backed by one of the top 5 highest-performing investors, this business is highly successful and scaling quickly.

The Opportunity

The Principal SEO Analyst will drive organic growth initiatives by leveraging data-driven insights, automation, and SEO product development. This role focuses on optimizing search visibility, executing scalable organic strategies, and integrating AI-driven tools to enhance performance. The ideal candidate will have a strong analytical background, experience in SEO experimentation, and the ability to collaborate cross-functionally with data science, content, and engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct deep-dive analyses on organic search performance, identifying correlations between traffic, rankings, and user behavior across large datasets.
  • Leverage Google Trends, internal search data, and third-party tools (e.g., Ahrefs, SEMrush) to map search behavior and market shifts.
  • Develop predictive models for SEO traffic forecasting, keyword demand shifts, and seasonality impacts.
  • Perform ongoing competitor analysis to benchmark and refine strategies.

Performance Measurement & Reporting:

  • Define and implement actionable SEO metrics to drive operational improvements.
  • Build and maintain automated dashboards to track organic performance KPIs at scale.
  • Measure the impact of organic efforts on traffic and conversion goals.
  • Automate and streamline SEO reporting across multiple data sources for accurate and timely insights.
  • Conduct real-time performance monitoring, using anomaly detection techniques to flag sudden ranking drops or search algorithm updates.
  • Collaborate with engineering and data science teams to automate keyword clustering, content classification, and ranking analysis.
  • Analyse large-scale A/B and multivariate SEO tests to assess changes in click-through rates (CTR), engagement, and conversions.
  • Implement automation for bulk data processing, trend analysis, and report generation.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Work closely with data scientists, business intelligence, and finance teams to align SEO data with broader business performance metrics.
  • Provide executive-level insights on organic search’s contribution to revenue, profitability, and customer acquisition.
  • Partner with paid search (PPC) teams to identify organic vs. paid search cannibalization and optimize cross-channel efficiency.

Your Profile

  • 5+ years of experience in a growth-focused role, with a strong background in SEO, content strategy, and organic performance.
  • Proven expertise in multi-market SEO strategy, including international expansion and local search optimization.
  • Strong analytical mindset, with experience in data-driven decision-making and performance measurement.
  • Hands-on experience with technical SEO, including site architecture, crawlability, and Core Web Vitals compliance.
  • Knowledge of AI-driven SEO, automation tools, and martech solutions to enhance operational efficiency a plus but not a requirement.
  • Commercially minded, able to translate organic performance metrics into tangible business impact.
