Job Title: Operations Logistics Coordinator

Department: Supply Chain

Hours: 08:00-17:00 Mon-Thu, 08:00-13:00 Friday

Salary: £30,000

Location: Kettering, Northamptonshire

Pertemps are recruiting for an Operations Logistics Coordinator for our Kettering based client within their Operations Team. The successful applicant will be responsible for daily coordination with their freight and logistics partners as well as their manufacturing sites and Distribution Centres to ensure a smooth process in line with service level agreements. Your role will be to ensure that finished goods are delivered at the right price and the right time in line with Critical Path and launch dates. Working as a team reporting into the Operations team.

Your roles and responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
Freight/Logistics
  1. Track performance KPIs, put forward suggestions / plans of action for improvement; spotting opportunities for enhanced efficiency / cost savings.
  2. Weekly review of shipment issues / service levels with global DCs.
  3. Look to streamline shipping and transportation processes utilizing logistics IT to optimize shipping and transport procedures where possible.
  4. Formalization of standard operating procedures and process maps.
  5. Leading regular reviews with our Distribution Centres in UK / and abroad, resolving issues relating to quality of deliveries / packaging / scanning issues.
  6. Monitoring and auditing critical inbound samples and deadlines.
  7. Liaise closely with all of our manufacturing sites.
  8. Support Operations, Purchasing and Planning Teams with regular cost scenarios.
  9. Manage forwarder accounts, host Quarterly Business Reviews.
  10. First point of call for all Supply Chain related matters.
Custom/Duty
  1. Monthly auditing / reporting on HMRC MSS data ensuring correct duty payments are being made and corrective action taken.
  2. Maintaining auditable database of UK Customs HS / US Tariff codes / Values, Origins and dutiable rates ensuring Customs compliance.
  3. Approving and checking freight invoices & customs entries.
  4. Take the lead in preparation ahead of scheduled HMRC Audits.
  5. Develop and manage relationships internally / externally to ensure smooth schedules and execution.
  6. Quarterly performance reviews with our nominated Freight Forwarders.
  7. Ability to lead freight forwarder tender process as required.
  8. Ensuring ERP System delivery dates are maintained / revised.
Criteria
  1. 2-3 years working in a similar role.
  2. HMRC experience and knowledge of applicable laws, regulations relating to import and export, shipping procedures, incoterms and MSS data.
  3. Intimate apparel experience would be a significant advantage.
  4. Effective scheduling and planning skills.
  5. Outstanding organizational, coordination abilities.
  6. Excellent communication, team-working interpersonal skills.
  7. Ability to read and interpret large sets of numerical data.
  8. Strong IT analytical skills (Microsoft 365, Excel especially, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, Teams, ERP).
