Qualifications

  • 3+ years experience in manual/semi-automated assembly or a bio-sciences degree.
  • Familiarity with clean room practices and ISO 13485 is beneficial.

Description of role:

Yourgene Health is seeking an enthusiastic and organised Manufacturing Technician with the skills and experience to assemble and manufacture the company’s product consumables. Our assembly lines consist of several pieces of automation equipment, which the successful candidate will learn to operate independently.

Overall responsibility:

To manufacture a variety of kit components to demanding quality specifications.

Key areas of responsibility:

  • Develop skill and dexterity on the manufacture and QC of our consumable kit offerings.
  • Show ability to deliver great quality work with good efficiency.
  • Operate and maintain essential equipment to a high standard to ensure that all work is carried out in accordance with the relevant regulations and recommendations governing safety, health, and environmental standards.
  • Dispensing of liquids using semi-automated equipment.
  • Packing and labelling of reagents into kit form.

Qualifications, Skills and Abilities:

  • At least 3 years’ experience in a manual/semi-automated assembly environment or a first degree in a bio-sciences subject.
  • Familiarity with good practices for working in a clean and air-conditioned setting.
  • Excellent ability to manipulate and assemble fine or delicate mechanical assemblies.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn to work with new equipment.
  • Commitment to producing outstanding quality while working independently.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills with an attention to detail.
  • Experience with ISO 13485 Quality Management Systems (beneficial but not required).
