Job description

Salary: £62,022 per year

Contract Type: Permanent

Position Type: Full Time

Hours: 35 hours per week

Grade: PR-TCH-PT4

Role Purpose

The PT Pupil Support will have responsibility to lead and manage Support for Learning at Selkirk High School.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

  1. Developing the curriculum
  2. Assessing, recording and reporting on the work of pupils
  3. Preparing pupils for examinations and assisting with their administration
  4. Providing advice and guidance to pupils on issues related to their education
  5. Promoting and safeguarding the health, welfare and safety of pupils
  6. Working in partnership with parents, support staff and other professionals
  7. Undertaking appropriate and agreed continuing professional development
  8. Participating in issues related to school planning, raising achievement and individual review
  9. Contributing towards good order and the wider needs of the school
  10. Supporting learning in consultation with departments, identifying key support strategies, monitoring and evaluating pupil progress and agreeing “next steps”
  11. Preparing reports for and attending multi-agency meetings
  12. Liaising with external agencies and services such as Borders College and CLD Worker to develop bespoke support for pupils
  13. Leading CPD for colleagues to support ASN pupils
  14. Responsibility for the maintenance and updating of “ASN pupil data” and communication with all stakeholders as appropriate
