Wardell Armstrong LLP is a successful multi-disciplinary consultancy with 13 offices across the UK, employing approximately 500 staff, including around 60 full-time ecologists. At the heart of our business lies a group of outstanding people. Working together with our clients, we deliver solutions to challenging problems in Mining & Minerals, Infrastructure & Energy, and Property & Development.

The Opportunity:

To meet increased demand, we are looking to recruit a senior or principal ecologist (approx. 5-8 years experience) into our London office.

In this exciting role you will:

  1. Manage and support the delivery of projects;
  2. Prepare project proposals;
  3. Mentor junior staff in the field;
  4. Lead protected species surveys;
  5. Compile, analyse, evaluate and interpret survey data;
  6. Design protected species mitigation and prepare mitigation licences;
  7. Produce and contribute to complex technical reports including Ecological Impact Assessments, Biodiversity Net Gain Assessments and others;
  8. Develop project/financial management skills;
  9. Be taught the necessary skills for you to advance your career in ecology.

As the successful candidate you will:

  1. Have four or more continuous years of experience within ecological consultancy;
  2. Hold a degree in ecology or a related discipline;
  3. Hold, or be eligible for, ‘associate member’ status, or higher, of CIEEM;
  4. Be able to work effectively as part of a team;
  5. A full UK driving licence.

For all positions we offer:

1.5x pay for work carried out during unsocial hours (10pm – 6am);
