Housekeeping Supervisor***luxury hotel***

We are looking for a Housekeeping Supervisor on a full-time basis. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a similar role within housekeeping, with a positive and welcoming attitude. We are seeking someone with exceptional attention to detail, strong organisational skills, and a passion for working in housekeeping. Location: 100 Princes Street, Edinburgh

Employment Type: Full-time

Working Pattern: Shift work (5 days on, 2 days off)

Salary: £26,500 per annum + service charge.

Key Responsibilities of a Housekeeping Supervisor:

  • Checking and inspecting up to 60 rooms per shift to ensure they meet the hotel’s luxury standards for cleanliness, presentation, and guest satisfaction.
  • Assisting in the training, development, and mentoring of team members, ensuring that all staff are knowledgeable about housekeeping procedures and hotel policies.
  • Inputting and monitoring room status in the hotel’s computer system throughout the shift, ensuring accurate tracking of guest rooms for cleaning, maintenance, and readiness.
  • Preparing and allocating room attendants' sections and porter duties efficiently to ensure smooth operation and high-quality service.
  • Assisting in the control and issuing of keys, ensuring security and proper handling of keys for rooms and access areas.
  • Helping in the preparation and management of rotas to always ensure adequate staffing coverage, based on occupancy and operational needs.
  • Directly supervising and supporting team members daily, ensuring that all housekeeping tasks are completed on time and to the highest standard.

What are we looking for?

  • Previous experience in a similar role within the housekeeping department, ideally in a luxury hotel environment. Proven ability to supervise and manage a team effectively.
  • Excellent attention to detail with the ability to inspect rooms and common areas to meet luxury standards. Strong organisational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
  • A team player with a positive, can-do attitude, who enjoys motivating and supporting colleagues. Ability to lead by example and provide guidance to room attendants.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills in English to ensure clear instructions and feedback can be provided to the team.
  • Comfortable using hotel management software (experience with room status input, rotas, and key control systems is beneficial).
  • Able to work shifts on a 5-day-on, 2-day-off pattern, and manage varying workloads depending on hotel occupancy.
  • A strong focus on guest satisfaction with the ability to adapt to and resolve issues as they arise, maintaining the hotel’s high standards at all times.
