Bristol Royal Hospital for Children is one of the leading children’s hospitals in the UK. We are looking for a Locum Consultant Paediatric Radiologist (10PAs) who wish to join our current team of 5 Paediatric Radiology Consultants.
The successful candidates will have an opportunity to practice all imaging modalities, participate in quality improvement projects, develop specialized interest, and lead multidisciplinary meetings. It is expected to participate in training of students and registrars.
Paediatric Radiology Consultants provide an out of hours on-call service for general pediatric imaging (currently a 1 in 7).
We are looking for the successful candidate to start as soon as possible, and this is for a 10 PA locum post for a fixed term of 12 months (part-time applications are welcomed).
Main duties of the job
The successful candidates will work with the existing team to provide secondary and tertiary paediatric imaging and will be encouraged to develop a sub-specialty interest. They will take part in the delivery of the emergency paediatric imaging services for the Trust. This will include all relevant modalities, including plain film reporting, ultrasound, fluoroscopy, CT, MRI, and interventional procedures as necessary.

Qualifications and Training
- Full and specialist registration with the General Medical Council (GMC)
- Or Eligible for specialist registration within six months of interview
- Or Holder of Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT), or evidence of within six months of award of CCT or equivalent by date of interview
- Higher academic qualification
Clinical Knowledge and Experience
- Evidence of thorough and broad training and experience in relevant specialty
- Able to take responsibility for delivering service without direct supervision
- Knowledge of leading multidisciplinary team meetings
- Up to date knowledge and experience of relevant specialty
- Knowledge of NHS priorities with reference to specialty
- Evidence of a special interest and expertise that complements those of other consultants in the department and is consistent with the Trust’s service strategy
