Business Tax Manager

Job Description

  1. Manage and co-ordinate the provision of tax compliance services for a portfolio of clients
  2. Assist in the provision of planning and advisory work for clients, as required
  3. Responsible for controlling WIP on allocated jobs, including billing and debt collection
  4. Build and maintain good working relationships with clients and colleagues within the firm
  5. Assist in the allocation of compliance and other work to more junior members of staff, ensuring the effective deployment of staff
  6. Provide direction and support to junior members of staff in respect of all aspects of consultancy and compliance work
  7. Participate in the recruitment of new staff, appraisal and provision of feedback to existing staff and in the development of staff, as required
  8. Develop/maintain areas of specialisation as agreed with the partners
  9. Prepare and present and/or assist in the preparation of external/internal presentations and training courses
  10. Prepare technical material such as Factsheets and articles
  11. Assist partners with project/consultancy work
  12. Assist in marketing initiatives, such as the preparation of Factsheets, tendering to prospective clients etc, as required
  13. Maintain awareness of UK taxation developments and other relevant taxation and accountancy developments

We are looking for the following attributes as outlined below:

  1. Qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent) or commensurate professional experience
  2. Qualified CTA desirable
  3. Competent at using MS Office
  4. Good Knowledge of all relevant computer applications
  5. Good communication and presentation skills
  6. Strong organisational and time management skills
  7. Able to influence internal / external clients and colleagues
  8. Proven planning and prioritising skills
  9. Able to work under pressure with accuracy and focus
  10. Able to demonstrate problem solving skills
  11. Keen to add value to our clients’ businesses
  12. Self-motivated and able to apply relevant skills to new scenarios
