Job description

Our client, based in Bury St Edmunds, is looking to hire an Electrical Design Engineer to join its expanding team.


As an Electrical Design Engineer, your responsibilities will include:

  1. Designing control panels and switchgear to meet customers' specific requirements, ensuring compliance with legislative and safety standards.
  2. Anticipating future legislation and advising customers on product, service, or equipment adherence to requirements.
  3. Producing high-quality manufacturing data, including schematic and layout drawings using AutoCAD.
  4. Creating reports such as bill of materials and test procedures.
  5. Specifying and selecting electrical components for UK, EU, and International applications.
  6. Participating in design and quality reviews for new and existing products.
  7. Collaborating with the applications and sales, production, and quality teams, providing technical support and guidance as needed.
  8. Contributing to sales engineering effectiveness by identifying short-term and long-range issues and recommending options and courses of action.
  9. Implementing directives to drive change within the team.

To be considered for this Electrical Design Engineer role, you will need the following:

  1. Experience in the design of control panels and low-voltage distribution boards/switchboards.
  2. AutoCAD Electrical proficient.
  3. Experience in interpreting different technical schematics and report formats, including electrical and mechanical.

In return, our client is offering the following to the successful Electrical Design Engineer:

  1. £40,000 - £45,000
  2. Hybrid Working
