As we continue our growth into 2025, we are looking to strengthen our team of skilled engineers with the addition of a Fire & Security Service Engineer.

Location: Covering the Greater Manchester area

What is the role?

As a Service Engineer at Trinity, you will be providing maintenance and servicing to our client’s fire and security systems. You will be completing the scheduled servicing in a timely and efficient manner, adhering to Trinity’s high-quality standards. You will be working as part of a skilled team of Service Engineers and will be supported by our wider support departments to provide high quality service and customer experience.

The key tasks include:

1. Carry out all other necessary works required at customer premises in accordance with the Company’s quality standards.
2. Effectively communicate with customers to ensure a good understanding of system and site status.
3. Liaise with service administrators and other internal stakeholders to ensure our service commitments are met.
4. Work to a planned service and maintenance schedule, emergency call out requirements. Issue remedial repairs and minor additions to existing installations in line with service administration guidance.

What systems experience do you need?

Fire:

Required: Gent, Notifier, Apollo

Desirable: Protec, Kentec, Morley, Ctec, Hochiki

CCTV:

Required: Avigilon, Axis

Desirable: Drax

Intruder:

Required: Galaxy, Texecom

Desirable: Visonic

Access Control:

Required: Paxton, Honeywell

Desirable: Tyco

What skills do you need?

1. Experience in servicing and maintaining fire, security, CCTV and access control systems to relevant British Standards.
2. Ability to identify all types of cable associated with fire detection and security systems, and to correctly test and terminate the cable ends in accordance with manufacturers’ instructions.
3. A logical approach to system fault diagnosis and rectification.
4. To always provide outstanding customer service.
5. Excellent verbal and written communication.

What technical knowledge do you need?

1. Understand the basic building services to test cause and effect of fire alarm interfaces.
2. A comprehensive understanding of the causes and cures of fire, intruder, CCTV and access control problems, including an ability to recommend changes to practices and processes that may cause false alarms as well as recommending changes to the systems.
3. Basic Electrical Safety training (ECA).
4. Manufacturers training with a minimum requirement of Notifier and Gent equipment in respect of servicing.
