In-House Commercial Solicitor | 2-6 PQE | National Law Firm | Birmingham/hybrid

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a junior to mid-level In-House Commercial Solicitor to join a forward-thinking Office of General Counsel team within a law firm environment. This is a permanent, employed position offering the best of both worlds - the stability and resources of a law firm, combined with the in-house experience of working directly with internal stakeholders. There are no fee-earning or hours targets, allowing you to focus on delivering strategic, high-quality legal advice without the pressures of traditional law firm life. The firm also has a flexible approach to hybrid working and the expectation is that you would spend one day a week in the office.

The Role:

As part of the General Counsel Team, you'll provide strategic, commercial, and regulatory legal support to stakeholders across the business. You will be involved in a wide range of non-contentious legal matters, including contract reviews, supplier agreements, data protection, and ad-hoc queries, while building strong relationships with senior leaders and various business areas. This is an exciting opportunity for a solicitor who thrives in a collaborative environment, with plenty of opportunities to contribute to high-level projects and initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

- Reviewing, negotiating, and advising on a variety of commercial contracts.
- Providing legal support on strategic projects and business operations.
- Engaging in stakeholder management to ensure smooth delivery of legal services.
- Keeping abreast of key legal and regulatory changes and advising the business accordingly.
- Working in close collaboration with other legal and business teams to ensure service delivery aligns with corporate objectives.

About You:

- 2-6 years PQE in commercial law, ideally with some in-house or regulatory experience.
- Strong contract negotiation and drafting skills.
- Experience advising on data protection, IT, or other commercial matters is highly desirable.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and work independently as well as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
