Job overview

You will provide assistance to the Health Care Groups in embedding consistent processes and best practice principles associated with digital solution implementation.

IT literacy, flexibility and the ability to travel across the PAHT estate is essential. You will have excellent communication skills and confidence in working with Nurses, Midwives, administrators, Doctors and other health professionals. You will be required to work closely with the ICT support services and Project Managers as required. Supporting clinical staff will be of key importance to improving the overall quality of patient care.

A key component of the Princess Alexandra Hospital’s application estate is the Electronic Patient Record (EPR). You will ensure that the functionality reflects the operational working of the Trust and local Health Economy in recording patient activity and providing a means of communication with patients. You will manage user support in the production of information used to support commissioning activity as well as statutory information requirements and at all times ensure the integrity, security and accuracy of the data recorded.

There is a requirement for this role to operate as part of an on-call rota as and when required and includes rotation weekend working as part of the core delivery hours.

  • Work within varied clinical environments and settings, supporting administration and clinical staff.
  • Work alongside trainers in classroom settings, supporting the delivery of training as classroom assistants.
  • Confident and effective communication skills are essential in order to deliver one-to-one and group support and to deliver key messages to a diverse range of users.
  • Support colleagues as an active member of the Programme team.
  • Able to empathise, reassure and encourage End Users, offering guidance, direction and when appropriate effective signposting.
  • Update and maintain any support materials in line with any service changes as requested by the line manager.
  • Assist the ICT Support team and Users in providing basic fixes onsite and being available following changes in applications, updates, fixes etc. to the user community.
