Job Description

The purpose of the Technical Director role is to oversee and direct the technical strategy, development, and execution across the company. This role is pivotal in shaping the technical vision, ensuring the alignment of technology initiatives with business goals, and driving innovation.

The Technical Director will lead the technical teams, manage high-level technical projects, and ensure the successful delivery of complex solutions that enhance the company’s competitive edge and operational efficiency.


Key Responsibilities:

  1. Technical Leadership:
    * Develop and execute the technical strategy in alignment with the organization's overall business objectives.
    * Lead and inspire technical teams, setting clear goals and providing guidance to ensure high performance and innovation.

  2. Strategic Planning:
    * Define and implement technical roadmaps that support the organization’s strategic goals and growth plans.
    * Evaluate emerging technologies and trends, recommending strategic initiatives to leverage new opportunities and maintain competitive advantage.
    * Oversee the development of long-term technical plans and ensure they are integrated with the company’s business strategy.

  3. Project Oversight:
    * Manage and oversee the execution of major technical projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
    * Coordinate cross-functional teams and resources to deliver complex solutions and address any technical challenges.
    * Monitor project progress and performance, making adjustments as necessary to ensure successful outcomes.

  4. Stakeholder Management:
    * Act as the primary technical point of contact for senior executives, stakeholders, and clients, communicating technical vision and progress.
    * Collaborate with other departments and business units to align technical initiatives with organizational needs and priorities.
    * Build and maintain strong relationships with external partners, vendors, and technology providers.

  5. Governance and Compliance:
    * Ensure that all technical activities comply with relevant regulations, standards, and best practices.
    * Establish and enforce technical policies, procedures, and standards to ensure consistency and quality across projects and initiatives.
    * Manage technical risk and ensure that appropriate measures are in place to mitigate potential issues.

  6. Innovation and Technology Management:
    * Drive innovation by identifying and adopting cutting-edge technologies and methodologies that improve business performance.
    * Oversee the evaluation, selection, and implementation of new tools and technologies that align with the organization’s technical vision.
    * Encourage a culture of innovation, experimentation, and continuous learning within the technical teams.

Qualifications

- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Experience: Extensive experience in a senior technical leadership role, with a proven track record of managing large-scale technical projects and teams.
- Technical Expertise: Deep understanding of technology trends, software development, system architecture, and enterprise-level solutions.
- Leadership: Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and guide technical teams, manage cross-functional projects, and influence senior stakeholders.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
- Strategic Thinking: Strong strategic and analytical skills, with the ability to develop and execute long-term technical plans and initiatives.
- Problem-Solving: Advanced problem-solving skills with the ability to address and resolve complex technical challenges.


Desirable:
- Relevant certifications (e.g., PMP, TOGAF, AWS Certified Solutions Architect).
- Experience with cloud technologies, DevOps practices, and agile methodologies.
- Proven experience in technology transformation and digital innovation.
