Salary: £28,000 - £35,000 per annum

What You'll Be Doing:

As a Skilled Waste Tanker Fitter you will work on a variety of tanker types, including both rigid and articulated models. This role involves handling all aspects of tanker maintenance, repair, and remounting.

Responsibilities:

  • Mounting tanker barrels onto new truck chassis or trailer bogies.
  • Maintaining, repairing, and modifying road tanker barrels and ancillary equipment.
  • Performing TIG & MIG welding in aluminium, stainless steel, and mild steel.
  • Using fabrication machinery to create and install new components.
  • Installing and maintaining running gear.
  • Working on body building for heavy goods vehicles.
  • Understanding and maintaining vehicle pneumatics, hydraulics, and electrics.
  • Knowledge and practical experience in vehicle hydraulics.
  • Familiarity with current vehicle and tanker legislation, including ADR compliance.
  • Performing repairs on truck components.
  • Maintenance and repair of auxiliary engines (donkey engines).
