Description

The Role

  1. Responsible for all aspects of handling and broking Marine Hull placements. Typically for smaller to medium sized, volume business/clients.
  2. Ability to understand a client or prospect’s business, coverage requirements and key issues.
  3. Ability to manage relationships and negotiate placement with the relevant insurance markets.
  4. Prepare client/prospect and market presentations and documentation.
  5. Determine appropriate solutions, structuring and pricing.
  6. Identify appropriate markets and determine placing strategy.
  7. Create and grow relationships with underwriters in UK and international markets.
  8. Assist with the department’s sales processes and the development of new business.
  9. Ensure ongoing compliance with WTW guidelines and procedures.
  10. Ensure good relationships and communication with other WTW associates.
  11. Understand and use relevant WTW systems.
  12. Provide the highest level of customer service to existing and new clients, maintaining profitable revenue and supporting the sales process for upselling and cross selling.

Qualifications

The Requirements

  1. A knowledge of Marine Hull and its business/clients is preferable.
  2. Good communication, negotiation, organisational and interpersonal skills.
  3. Excellent technical skills.
  4. Ability to assimilate and apply large volumes of information rapidly.
  5. Negotiation skills coupled with the ability to be flexible and innovative.
  6. Ability to work both independently and as part of a wider team.
  7. Able to prioritise, manage deadlines and work under pressure.
  8. Ability to adapt personal style to work effectively with a wide range of clients, colleagues and underwriters.
  9. Must be prepared to work with integrity and openness, complying at all times with FCA and WTW requirements.
  10. Good IT skills with excellent Word and Excel usage capability.
