Job Title: Teacher of MFL
Location: Southampton, Hampshire
Salary: £30,000 - £46,535 per annum (Depending on experience).
Start time: After Easter 2025 or September 2025
Contract Type: Full-Time (Permanent/Fixed Term) (Part-time available for the right candidate)

About the Role:

As a Teacher of MFL, you will have the opportunity to deliver engaging and interactive lessons that ignite students' enthusiasm for languages and broaden their cultural understanding. You will play a key role in encouraging fluency and communication skills, fostering confidence in students’ linguistic abilities.

Responsibilities:

• Delivering high-quality and inspiring MFL lessons in line with the national curriculum.
• Teaching one or more modern foreign languages (such as French, Spanish, or German) to secondary students.
• Encouraging students to develop their speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills.
• Creating an inclusive and stimulating classroom environment that supports all learners.
• Assessing student progress and providing constructive feedback and tailored support.
• Differentiating lessons to meet the needs of SEN and EAL students.
• Working collaboratively with colleagues to develop the MFL curriculum and learning strategies.
• Contributing to language-based extracurricular activities, clubs, and cultural events.

Requirements:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or be an Early Career Teacher (ECT).
• Applications from overseas-trained teachers who meet UK teaching standards are encouraged.
• Experienced Teaching Assistants or Cover Supervisors with relevant experience will also be considered.
• Proficiency in at least one modern foreign language (such as French, Spanish, or German).
• A passion for language teaching and cultural awareness.
• Excellent classroom management skills and the ability to engage and motivate students.
• A commitment to delivering inclusive and engaging lessons.
• Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
