Job Description

20 hours per week. Monday - 09:00 – 12:00, Tuesday-Thursday - 9:00-13:00, Friday - 9:00-14:00.

Purpose Of The Post

To provide a high quality service to all clients ensuring that their needs are met effectively and efficiently. Offer support to all aspects of non-laboratory and analytical services.

  • Ensure queries for the laboratory clients are managed effectively.
  • Pass the query onto the appropriate staff member/department.
  • Liaise with the Laboratory Processing Manager/Quality Officer with any customer issues that have arisen.
  • Troubleshoot customer and engineer incidents.
  • Ensure that customer issues are resolved effectively and suitably. Inform clients that actions have been undertaken to resolve the issue and prevent the issue reoccurring.
  • Liaise with the analysts, Laboratory Processing Manager, Laboratory Operations Manager, Laboratory Development Director for technical information.
  • Ensure that clients are kept up to date with all appropriate UKAS information.
  • As required, liaise with the Logistics department regarding collections and distribution of Orange Boxes.
  • Booking orders onto LIMS, order management and relocation.
  • Create bottle labels, labelling of sample bottles, contact and settle plates.
  • Ensure the Customer incident and Collection log are completed in a timely manner.
  • Cover phone lines and answer customer and engineer queries.
  • Attend and assist when necessary, meetings with department and management.
