Transport Planner

Reed Business Support are delighted to be supporting a fantastic and rapidly growing logistics company in their search for a Transport Planner. This would be a fantastic role for an individual with a strong background in logistics and transport.

Duties and responsibilities:

• Develop and implement transport plans that meet the needs of the organisation and its clients.
• Manage logistics operations, ensuring timely delivery and cost-effectiveness.
• Communicate effectively with customers to understand their transport requirements and provide exceptional service.
• Utilise Excel for data analysis and reporting, ensuring accuracy in all documentation.
• Prepare reports using Word to present findings and recommendations to management.
• Collaborate with various departments to coordinate transport activities and resolve any issues that may arise.
• Drive initiatives aimed at improving operational efficiency within the transport function.
• Monitor industry trends and regulations to ensure compliance and best practices are followed.

About you:

• Proven experience in a transport planning or logistics role is preferred.
• Experience in the use of Transport Management Systems (Qargo preferable).
• Strong customer service skills with a focus on relationship management.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Word.
• Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively while maintaining attention to detail.

This is a nights-based position. Full-time role.

Working hours will be between 10:00pm – 06:00am. Monday – Friday.

Salary: Up to £33,000 DOE.
