An opportunity has arisen for a Radiological Protection Engineer within AtkinsRéalis’ expanding Decommissioning Services team. The successful candidate will report to Senior Engineer/RPA and will take a leading role in the radiological protection aspects of the projects on which Decommissioning Services are engaged.

The Individual:
We are seeking a confident, capable individual with a high level of initiative to take on an essential role within our radiological protection team. Reporting to the Senior RP Engineer/RPA, the successful person will act as a role model to Graduate and Assistant RP Engineers. This person will demonstrate technical proficiency, a sound understanding of the practicalities of implementing specified solutions, and professionalism in all aspects of their work.
The successful applicant will be willing to challenge the status-quo, where appropriate; a questioning attitude is vital to long term success. They will be able to identify underlying technical points which often govern and delay decisions, and use this knowledge to implement safe, compliant solutions.
This position would suit a well-established health physicist/radiological protection engineer whom is ready for a new challenge, or someone ready to take a step up into a more senior position. It is not necessary for you to hold an RPA certificate to hold this position, but it is expected that you will achieve RPA certification whilst in this role.
