This role offers an excellent opportunity for a dynamic leader to oversee and develop a team across multiple locations, ensuring strong operational, financial, and compliance performance within a designated region.
About the Role
As an Area Manager, you will be responsible for the seamless and efficient running of multiple depots, overseeing management teams and staff to uphold high service standards. Your role will be instrumental in driving business success, improving efficiency, and maintaining best practices in health & safety and customer service.
This senior position demands flexibility, hands-on leadership, and strategic oversight of operations. The role involves regular travel between depots, and due to the nature of the business, occasional evening and weekend availability may be required.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the overall operational, financial, and service performance of assigned depots.
- Inspire, lead, and support management teams to enhance efficiency and customer satisfaction.
- Ensure business objectives are achieved, aligning operations with company goals.
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships while identifying new business opportunities.
- Collaborate closely with Sales, Business Development, Marketing, and Client Services teams.
- Implement strategies to enhance cooperation between depots and boost overall productivity.
- Address and resolve customer concerns, introducing measures to prevent future issues.
- Foster a positive workplace culture in line with the company's vision and values.
- Monitor financial performance, control costs, and identify opportunities for growth.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies.
- Provide operational and leadership support across the organisation as required.
What We're Looking For
- Demonstrated leadership experience within environmental services, waste management, or a related field.
- Strong operational, financial, and commercial understanding.
- Excellent people management skills, with the ability to develop and inspire high-performing teams.
- Comprehensive knowledge of health & safety regulations; IOSH or NEBOSH qualifications are beneficial.
- Background in sales and business development, with a keen eye for growth opportunities.
- Ability to adapt to a fast-paced and demanding environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with experience in senior-level reporting and presentations.
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel and work away from home as required.
