Mobile or Workshop - Heavy Plant Fitter - St Albans

Location: St Albans, Hertfordshire

Salary: Up to £57,000 + Paid Overtime for Saturdays

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM - 6:00 PM, with a Saturday morning rota (1 in 2)

My Clients are seeking two Heavy Plant Fitters to join our dynamic team in the St Albans area. They have opportunities available for both a Mobile Heavy Plant Fitter and a Workshop-Based Heavy Plant Fitter.

Role Overview:

As a Heavy Plant Fitter, you will be responsible for maintaining, servicing, and making general repairs to a wide range of heavy plant machinery. This is a fantastic opportunity for experienced professionals to join a reputable and growing company with excellent pay and benefits.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Conduct routine maintenance, servicing, and repairs on heavy plant machinery
2. Diagnose and fix mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults, Diggers, Dumpers, Excavators etc
3. Ensure that machinery is fully operational and meets safety standards
4. Provide rapid, effective solutions to minimize downtime
5. Keep accurate records of work performed and parts used

Mobile Heavy Plant Fitter Role:

Company Van & Fuel Card Provided. You will travel to client sites across the St Albans area to carry out repairs and maintenance on-site.

Workshop Heavy Plant Fitter Role:

Based in our St Albans workshop, working on a variety of machinery within our fleet.

Requirements:

1. Proven experience as a Heavy Plant Fitter or similar role
2. Strong knowledge of heavy plant machinery, including diggers, loaders, and excavators
3. Ability to diagnose faults using diagnostic equipment
4. A full UK driving licence (essential for the mobile role)
5. A proactive, problem-solving attitude
