The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre NHS Foundation Trust is one of the UK’s leading providers of non-surgical cancer treatment, caring for a population of 2.4 million people across Cheshire & Merseyside, North Wales, the Isle of Man and parts of Lancashire.

Our flagship specialist cancer hospital was opened in central Liverpool in June 2020, supported by our hospital on the Clatterbridge Health Park in Wirral providing outpatient cancer treatment and supportive care and our radiotherapy treatment centre on the Aintree Hospital site.

Together, working across three sites and operating specialist chemotherapy clinics in four of Merseyside’s district hospitals, we are able to deliver a comprehensive range of inpatient care, advanced radiotherapy, chemotherapy and other systemic anti-cancer therapies including gene therapies and immunotherapies. Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our CML/MPN team at The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre as a Band 7 Clinical Nurse Specialist in Haemato-oncology as a full time fixed term CNS, to cover maternity leave.

The post holder will provide specialist advice and support to patients and their carers throughout their care pathway, as well as providing education and support to staff throughout the trust. The post holder will support the consultant team as well as delivering nurse led services for patients with haemato-oncology.

This role is currently based at The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre in Liverpool.

You should possess advanced clinical skills, be an excellent communicator, leader and educator, and be highly motivated to lead and deliver a service. A background in cancer nursing is ideal, recent experience in working within the specialty of haemato-oncology would be essential.

  • Be an active part in attending case conferences, SRGs and MDTs as required.
  • Actively participates in multi-professional meetings, acting as patient advocate and representing nursing views.
