We are hiring for an IT Manager to join our team at ASE Global in the UK!
We’re looking for a hands-on and experienced IT Manager, someone who thrives in the trenches, knows their way around a data center, can diagnose networking issues in real time, and isn’t afraid to rack a server when needed.
As the IT Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the uptime, performance, and scalability of our core infrastructure. You'll lead a small team, work closely with vendors and partners, and be directly involved in projects that impact our European operations. This is a dynamic, fast-paced, and travel-heavy role that requires a balance of technical depth and leadership skills.
The successful candidate will be based anywhere in the UK, working in a remote work model!
What your day will look like:
- Lead and manage IT infrastructure across multiple data centers throughout Europe
- Provide hands-on support for VMware, Hyper-V, and physical/virtual server environments
- Manage and maintain fiber-attached storage, backup systems, and disaster recovery plans
- Oversee networking infrastructure, including switches, routers, and firewall configurations (Fortinet preferred)
- Collaborate with international teams to plan and execute infrastructure upgrades, migrations, and improvements
- Mentor and support junior IT staff and coordinate with third-party vendors and service providers
- Ensure systems are secure, patched, and compliant with company policies
- Travel routinely across Europe to support on-site installations, data center work, and troubleshooting
About You:
- Minimum 5+ years of hands-on IT infrastructure experience in mid-to-large environments
- Proven expertise in VMware and Hyper-V virtualization platforms
- Experience managing SAN or fiber-attached storage systems
- Strong understanding of networking, including VLANs, VPNs, routing, and firewalls
- Demonstrated ability to lead small technical teams and manage multiple concurrent projects
- Ability to diagnose and resolve complex hardware and networking issues under pressure
- Must be willing and able to travel frequently across Europe (valid passport required)
- Experience with Fortinet firewalls, Dell or HP server hardware, and backup solutions
- Knowledge of AD, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy in Windows Server environments
- Familiarity with data center operations, including cabling, power management, and environmental controls
- Previous experience working in a fast-paced, M&A-heavy environment is a bonus
- Fluent in English, both written and verbal, is essential, with additional European languages a plus
- Legally authorized to work in the UK
What We Offer
- A competitive salary and benefits package
- The opportunity to make a direct impact on infrastructure across a growing European footprint
- A collaborative, fast-moving international team
- Travel opportunities and a dynamic role with ever-evolving challenges
