The Vacancy

CX Energy, part of the RSK Group, is seeking a talented Senior Project Manager on a full time, permanent basis to come and join our Operations team.
Overseeing multiple projects around the UK, you will be the primary point of contact internally and externally. You will focus on large complex projects ensuring effective communication is maintained with all stakeholders throughout the project life cycle from award to completion.
We need someone who is a self-starter with project management experience within the electrical industry who challenges what we do on a daily basis and thrives working in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines helping us build for the future.

CX Energy is the smart Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Management provider in the renewable Energy and Low Carbon sector. We specialise and help organisations on their path to net zero. We deploy all types of technology from Electric vehicle chargers to Solar PV, Energy Storage, and Private Network Electrical infrastructures.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver projects on time, to our quality standards and within budgets to maximise profit.
• Provide project planning, milestone management, scope management, resource management, contractor management, financial management and change management across the project portfolio.
• Work closely with internal and external stakeholders and clients ensuring our projects are delivered first time, every time.
• Design and maintain accurate and current programmes of work for the projects you deliver.
• Support the Commercial team with project feedback, recommendations and lessons learned.
• Attend sites, when necessary, to set contractors to work and troubleshoot and monitor quality and conduct management audits.
• Ensure cross-programme dependencies are managed accurately and efficient change control methods and processes are utilised.
• Act as a mentor to the broader PM team supporting continuous development.

Person Specification:

The successful individual will go through our top-notch induction and onboarding process with opportunities to develop further through our in-house training academy.

You'll already have experience & qualifications in:

• Project Management qualification or equivalent experience (e.g. Prince 2, APM, PMI).
• Relevant years' ICP 11VC/33KX substation build experience (essential).
• Full UK driving license (Maximum of 3 Penalty Points).
• CSCS (or equivalent).
• SPA (Petrol forecourt).
• SSSTS.
• Emergency first aid at work.
• Experience working alongside Design teams.
• Experience working in the electrical industry (ICP/IDNO/DNO/CPO).
• Experience working with multiple voltage levels.

You'll have a proven track record of:

• Proficient use of Productivity and Collaboration Software such as Microsoft Office, Microsoft Teams, SharePoint etc. across multiple platforms.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to adapt communication styles.
• Strong interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to use own initiative as well as work collaboratively as part of a team.
• Competent in MS Project or equivalent Project Management software.
• Managing the project life cycle, from ownership to completion.
• Good awareness of electrical networks and supporting documentation & industry terminology.
• Ability to create and present project report, particularly progress against target and budget.
• Agility in challenging situations, with the ability to find appropriate cost-effective solutions.
• Excellent customer management.
• Drive to support the development of junior colleagues.
