To provide the leadership and management of multi-disciplined engineering teams in the delivery of Aquila’s projects or workstreams. Working directly alongside Engineering Managers, Project Engineering Managers, and Principal Engineers; responsible for producing engineering concept schemes and detailed design solutions to meet the contracted requirements.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Engineering Management
Support the Senior Engineering Manager or Project Engineering Manager to lead multi-discipline engineering teams through the turnkey process, with responsibility for design, quality, schedule, and cost, supported by the project’s Lead Engineer.
Implement the engineering delivery strategy for an assigned project, informing the Senior Engineering Manager or Project Engineering Manager of project status, issues, or changes that could impact engineering delivery performance.
Manage the interfaces between the multi-discipline engineering teams, including sub-contract resources, to ensure delivery against programme, incorporating learning from experience and continuous improvement.
Provide input into overall engineering progress, resource management, and client engagement on an assigned project.
Assist the Senior Engineering Manager or Project Engineering Manager and Lead Engineer to identify and manage change, ensuring it is recorded and processed in accordance with the contract.
Provide review and reporting of technical progress on an assigned project, both internally and to external stakeholders.
Assess the technical output of the project’s suppliers and sub-contractors to ensure cost-effective, on-time, and fit-for-purpose output.
Provide technical and line management of the Aquila engineering team for an assigned project.
Support recruitment and development of the Engineering function’s resources.
Assist the Head of Engineering and Operational Management Team (OMT) in aspects of running and continuously improving the Engineering Function.
Deputise for the Principal Engineer in their absence on technical matters (where suitable) of an assigned project.
Prepare to undertake regular travel in the UK and overseas when required.
Attend various business meetings as required.

Capability
Responsible for the identification, recording, and reporting of the Engineering Delivery Functions’ Capability Management aspects of Forms, Templates, Registers, and Reporting.
Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to support achieving evolving Capability Management requirements.
Work with the Senior Engineering Manager and Head of Engineering to manage (record, retain, raise) SQEP within the Engineering Function.
