Apprentice - Construction Quantity Surveying Technician

Nordex UK and Ireland are excited to recruit a Construction Quantity Surveying Apprentice to join our team based at our UK Head Office in Didsbury, Manchester.

What will you be doing during your Apprenticeship?

The Nordex Apprenticeship programme provides our apprentices with a supportive environment to learn the practical elements of working within our commercial team, while working towards a recognised qualification.

The Commercial team is responsible for supporting our project management department to manage and lead on the cost aspects for the construction of wind farms across the UK and Ireland. Whilst on your apprenticeship, you will be working alongside our experienced team who will support you on your apprenticeship journey.

During your 3-year apprenticeship at Nordex, you will be working towards a Level 4 qualification in Construction and Built Environment.

What are we looking for?

1. You will hold 5 GCSEs or equivalent at level 4 or above including Mathematics, English and Science.
2. You will have a positive attitude and a willingness to learn and develop your skills.
3. You will enjoy problem solving and the buzz of supporting the team that keeps our wind turbines turning and generating renewable energy for the nation.

4. A great work-life balance. Our working pattern is usually between 8 am and 5 pm, Monday to Friday.
5. Time Off – You will receive 33 days of holiday including bank holidays plus an additional day off for your birthday. There is also the opportunity to buy up to 5 days of additional leave at the start of every year.
6. Health & Wellbeing – We offer a number of Health & Wellbeing initiatives including Employee Assistance Programmes, Bike to Work scheme, Paid Eye Tests, and Flu jabs.
7. Volunteering – Our employees can take 2 days per year to support volunteering activities in the local areas.

Our Recruitment Process

1. 1st Stage Like what you’ve heard and want to apply?

2. We need to receive your application by Wednesday 19th March 2025, however please be aware that we may close our application process if we receive an overwhelming response.
3. Stage 2 We will review each application we receive and will let you know by the end of March if we will be proceeding with your application.
4. 
   Stage 3 If your application is successful in reaching stage 3, you will be invited to attend one of our assessment centres. We appreciate assessment centres may sound scary, but our assessment centres are designed to be fun and to give you an opportunity to show us how amazing you will be as an apprentice at Nordex.
5. Our assessment centres will take place locally in early April 2025.
6. Stage 4 Successful candidates will be notified by May 2025.
7. Stage 5 Successful candidates will have the opportunity to meet their team and find out more about their apprenticeship programme at a Meet the Team session during the summer, and you will also be invited to an Apprentice induction day which will take place in late August.
8. Stage 6 Your actual start date will be dependant on when your course starts with the apprentice provider, but it is usually at the beginning of September 2025.
