Under the Director's or designee's general direction, the Instructional Designer will partner with the Behavioral Health Clearinghouse team and subject matter experts to create engaging, asynchronous eLearning for behavioral health clinicians and other health care professionals. The ideal candidate can work independently, is a critical thinker, and can use adult learning principles and plain language writing skills to develop effective online or blended learning materials on health care training topics, including behavioral health, substance use, trauma, cultural humility, health disparities, marginalized populations, and public benefits. This position will be 100% remote, working around the Eastern Standard Time (EST) schedule.

REQUIRED EDUCATION: Bachelor’s Level Degree or equivalent in Education, Learning and Development, Instructional Design or a related field.
REQUIRED WORK EXPERIENCE: 5-7 years of experience in instructional design working in a large institution. 2 years experience working with a Learning Management Systems (LMS). Minimum 2 years of experience coordinating and planning training projects. Solid knowledge of adult learning principles, including how to apply them in the design process. Solid planning, organizational and multi-tasking skills. Basic project management skills required. Work collaboratively in a hurry up and wait environment. Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills necessary to interact with clients and staff. Background in learning design experience using ADDIE/SAM or similar instructional design methodology. Ability to apply concepts of adult learning theory to design impactful learning experiences for various delivery environments, both synchronous and asynchronous. Ability to take complex, sometimes mixed messages from multiple stakeholders and transform them into simple, elegant, and clear learning solutions. Familiarity with learning and/or design software tools (Photoshop, Articulate Storyline 360, Vyond, Captivate, Camtasia, etc.) in order to translate content needs into realistic creative shorts. Proficient in audio and video editing. Knowledge and use of various program evaluation tools which serve to measure effectiveness and impact of programs and learning initiatives. Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver on-time results. Advanced written and verbal communication skills. Ability to deliver high quality solutions quickly and adapt and iterate based on stakeholder feedback and content performance. Experience with government-based insurance products preferred.
