Our client, a leading company in the energy sector based in Northern Ireland, is seeking an experienced QA / Test Manager to oversee and manage the entire testing process for critical projects and releases. As the QA / Test Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring the quality and successful delivery of project tests, drawing on your 20+ years of experience in Quality Assurance.
Key Responsibilities:
As the QA / Test Manager, your primary responsibility will be the overall QA sign-off for all projects under test. Key duties include:
Managing Onsite and Nearshore Teams: Coordinate both onsite and nearshore project/QA resources, ensuring alignment and collaboration across teams.
Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with the QA Architect, QA Analysts, Business Analysts, Enterprise and Solution Architects, and Project Managers to ensure quality across all projects.
Test Planning & Execution: Define, manage, and implement test plans, ensuring the appropriate scope of testing in line with business, functional, technical, and UI requirements.
Test Phases & Reporting: Oversee all phases of testing, manage tester workloads, and ensure on-time and on-budget completion of test cycles.
Issue & Risk Management: Track defects, report on testing metrics, and manage risks/issues within the testing process. Escalate critical issues as necessary to avoid delays.
Strategy & Documentation: Collaborate with PMO and users to define testing strategies, create Test Outcome Reports (TOR), and engage stakeholders in BAC and witnessing sessions.
Skills & Experience Required:
Minimum of 20+ years of experience as a QA/Test Manager, with a proven ability to oversee and deliver large-scale testing processes.
Extensive experience managing both onsite and nearshore QA teams.
Strong collaboration and leadership skills, working alongside Architects, Business Analysts, Project Managers, and other key stakeholders.
A deep understanding of the full testing lifecycle, including test planning, execution, defect tracking, and reporting.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to escalate issues and manage risks effectively.
