Job description

We're thrilled to offer an exciting opportunity for an experienced Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our team at White Cross Vets, Kings Heath.

Our nurses have a varied role, including consults, inpatient care, theatre, imaging, and lab work, and we ensure responsibilities are shared equally across the team.

Join an Advanced Team

Our current team is made up of 8 Veterinary Surgeons, 9 Registered Veterinary Nurses, 1 fantastic Student Veterinary Nurse, 3 VCAs, and a wonderful group of 5 Client Care Coordinators. We have a brand-new ultrasound machine, digital x-ray, dental x-ray, multiparameters, oxygen concentrator, osmosis machine, endoscope, Phovia light therapy, cautery, suction, and tonometry. We are also a Cat and Rabbit Friendly practice.

We're a lively and approachable team, and we're committed to ensuring you have great job satisfaction here. We have Certificate holders in medicine, imaging, and surgery, and two vets currently completing certificates in feline medicine and exotics. We also have an RVN working towards an anaesthesia certificate. We're eager to learn about your interests and are passionate about supporting your ongoing development.

Outside of work, we love to unwind by attending the pub quiz across the road, as well as spending our monthly wellbeing afternoons practicing for the quiz or enjoying movies, arts and crafts, and games!

We're ideally located with excellent transport links, including various bus routes right outside the practice and Yardley Wood and Kings Norton train stations within walking distance. We're surrounded by local shops and coffee shops, making it a great place to work and relax.

Working Hours

We're looking for a full-time nurse working 37.5 hours per week, but we're also open to applicants seeking more flexible or part-time hours. The role includes participating in a 1:5 Saturday rota (with TOIL), but there are no out-of-hours duties required. With a mix of early and late shifts, you'll enjoy a healthy work-life balance.
