Job Description

To provide a range of reception services including cashier duties for the Sports & Leisure Services Division.

To represent Sport & Culture Service and the Moray Council in ensuring a high-quality service is provided, whilst maintaining good operational procedures and relationships between the service and members of the public.

Responsibilities
  1. Dealing initially with users entering the Centre and providing information.
  2. Receiving bookings and dealing with enquiries.
  3. Receiving fees for admission to the swimming pool and associated facilities.
  4. Reconciling receipts, returns, and securing monies taken at Reception.
  5. Maintaining stock control records.
  6. Ensuring a high standard of customer care in respect of all users of services.
  7. Ensuring that all financial and administration procedures of the Council are complied with.
The Individual
  1. Experience of working in a busy reception environment using relevant technology e.g. photocopier, e-mail, intra/internet.
  2. Clerical/administration/typing experience.
  3. Experience of handling cash/cheques/card transactions.
  4. 4 SQA Standard Grades or equivalent at level 3 or above, including English.
  5. Ability to organise and manage own workload.
  6. Ability to use initiative when required.
  7. Self-confidence.
  8. Strong customer care skills and focus.
  9. Effective interpersonal skills.
  10. Ability to work to deadlines.
  11. Ability to identify priorities and plan work.
  12. Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office/ICT skills.
  13. Effective organisational skills/time management with the ability to respond to conflicting and competing demands.
  14. Ability to communicate effectively in written and verbal forms.
  15. Willingness to accept direction/delegation.
  16. Ability to deal sensitively with customers.
  17. Flexibility to meet the needs and demands of the service.

Temporary position until 30/11/2025.

Closing date - 4th April 2025.

Starting salary £24,995 (pro rata) or £13.26 per hour.

12 hours per week average.

Week 1: Monday 3 - 9pm, Friday 3 - 8.45pm.

Week 2: Tuesday and Wednesday 6.00 - 9.00pm, Friday 9am - 3pm.

Week 3: Monday 3 - 8.45pm, Saturday 9am - 1pm, Sunday 11.30am - 2pm.
