This role

We are looking for an experienced Commercial Contracts Manager to oversee and manage the contractual and financial obligations of specific contracts which Sinewave undertakes. This position requires flexibility to help the business create processes in which to grow the commercial team and specifically aid in supporting the operations team with contractual compliance.

The Commercial Contracts Manager shall advise the Project Manager on the specifics of the contract in order for the Project Manager to correctly implement the contract particulars in line with the agreed scope and programme.

An idea of what you'll be doing:

  • Leading contract reviews, negotiations & legal assessment (payment terms, JCT/NEC etc)
  • Feeding back external factors to Estimating team for pricing
  • Assist the Estimating & Sales team on the upfront work required to agree and secure the project contract; where required take part in the negotiation
  • Collect library of appropriate documentation
  • Maintaining commercial viability whilst supporting project managers (end to end)
  • Maximising value capture whilst ensuring contractual obligations are met (tender to completion) always
  • Attend monthly project review meetings with the Project Manager
  • Ensure financial viability of the agreed price throughout the project; where necessary, flag to the business where the agreed cost and consequential GP may be impacted
  • Assist the Estimator in a timely and complete handover of projects to the Design and Construction teams
  • Actively lead and participate in the creation and adjustment of processes, documentation and working templates, where necessary, including effective roll for future projects
  • Regularly review internal commercial contract processes, collaborating effectively with relevant parties to drive internal efficiencies and ensure suitable implementation and monitoring of processes

Requirements

You'll be a successful Commercial Contracts Manager if you're...

  • Proficient in the use of Productivity and Collaboration Software such as Microsoft Office, Microsoft Teams, SharePoint etc. across multiple platforms such as smart phones, tablets, laptops etc.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to adapt to communication styles
  • Strong interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to use own initiative as well as work collaboratively as part of a team
  • Proven track record of effectively managing both contracts and tenders.
  • Ability to work with multiple teams at any one time
  • Understanding of the Project life cycle, from ownership to completion
  • Project profit and loss forecasting and delivery
  • Project reporting, particularly progress against target and budget
  • Ability to track delivery against contracted scope of works
  • Ability to drive and deliver complex, multi-million-pound projects
  • Excellent organisation and coordination skills

You'll already have experience & qualifications in:

  • Experience with NEC & JCT contracts and their workings
  • Technical or Commercial degree from a University
  • At least 3 years in a similar role with similar responsibilities
  • Technical understanding of project delivery and pricing within MV/HV works
  • Comply with all company policies, procedures, and business ethics codes, including the anti-bribery policy, while adhering to the Environmental and Quality Management System in alignment with ISO standards and the requirements of the NERS accreditation.
