Work Hour: Mon - Fri 8.45 AM - 5.15 PM, 3 days in the office 2 days at home - hybrid

Randstad Sourceright, a leading provider of RPO & MSP Recruitment Services, is currently recruiting a Cost Accountant working on behalf of a leading Asset & Technology Solutions services company.

Job Title: Cost Accountant

Location: West Service Road, Raynesway, Derby DE21 7BG

Contract Length: 12 Months fixed contract

Rate: £150-£200/day PAYE

Role Overview

In this role, you will assist the Finance Manager in the provision of accurate financial information and maintenance of the integrity of the financial accounting data. Some of the other duties include:

1. Assist in the production of the monthly management accounts, in line with reporting timetables.
2. Maintain the integrity of the accounting ledgers.
3. Liaise with Business Managers to ensure that systems and processes are operating efficiently, so that the flow of transactions to source ledgers is up-to-date.
4. Validation of the monthly source data by reconciliations, critical reviews, etc., to ensure that revenue and costs are accounted for correctly.
5. Monthly reconciliation of accounts. Provision of supporting documentation for all balance sheet entries.
6. Education of profit/cost centre managers in financial accounting matters.
7. Assist in the production of annual plans, budgets, and periodic forecasts.
8. Assist the Finance Manager in carrying out ad hoc analytical exercises.
9. Assist the Finance Manager in the periodic audit of the financial processes at depots to verify the integrity of the source data.
10. Understanding all fixed assets registers.

Essential Skills for the Role:

1. Proven ability to produce monthly management accounts.
2. Experience of working alongside an operational management team.
3. Good knowledge of Excel (Essential: Pivot tables, vlookup).
4. Systems Experience (preferred: Oracle R12).

Desirable:

Part-qualified Accountant (CIMA, ACA, ACCA)
