Principal Social Worker - Adults Services

Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH)

Pontypridd

£39.57 Umbrella

Rhondda Cynon Taff Social Services require a Principal Social Worker to join their Safeguarding Hub. Agreement for initial funding is until 30th June. This position is 5 days per week and offers hybrid working. On-site presence will be at Pontypridd Police Station. Pay rate for this role is £39.57 Umbrella company.

This is a great opportunity to join a well-established and well-supported team. The main aspects of the role include the following:

  • To lead and manage Safeguarding processes in order to protect and promote the wellbeing of adults at risk, children, carers, family members, and vulnerable people by delivering high-quality Safeguarding practice and driving continuous improvement.
  • To undertake the Adult at Risk Duty function of the Local Authority.
  • To evaluate safeguarding reports against thresholds contained within Part 7 of the Social Services Well-being (Wales) Act 2014 and statutory guidance on handling individual cases to protect adults at risk.
  • To make or facilitate enquiries, chair multi-agency Strategy Meetings, Adult Protection Case Conferences, and other professional meetings as required, and arrange investigations in accordance with relevant legislation and the Wales Safeguarding Procedures.
  • Manage and hold a caseload of Safeguarding cases.
  • To act as Lead Co-ordinator for Adult Safeguarding cases.
  • To lead and manage the delivery of interventions where high-level risk assessment, problem-solving, and decision-making skills in relation to Safeguarding will be required.
  • To lead and manage the formulation, design, and implementation of expert evidence-based interventions through co-production of Adult Care and Support Protection plans in Adult Safeguarding strategy meetings and case conferences.
  • To represent Adult Services as required at MARAC, MAPPA, or other Safeguarding or Public Protection arenas.
  • To ensure the transfer of knowledge and sharing of best practice across the Team, Adult Services, and partner agencies.
  • To work in collaboration to deliver sustained improvements in performance, quality, and consistency of practice across the team, thereby achieving the best outcomes possible for adults at risk, carers, families, and vulnerable people.

To apply for this role, you will need to hold:

  • A minimum of 3 years experience of working in the UK as a registered social worker.
  • A relevant Social Work Qualification.
  • Registration with Social Care Wales / Social Work England.
  • Enhanced DBS, registered on the update service or be happy to apply for a DBS.
  • 3 Years of referencing.
  • Driving license with access to a car.
