A specialist school is actively looking for an enthusiastic Waking Night Shift Support Worker to assist children with complex SEN needs within their residential setting. This setting is in Bexhill-On-Sea and caters for the ages of 5 to 19, including those with physical, medical, and personal care needs. They are proud to say that they are a total communication environment. This ensures all students can make their wishes known, and staff will respond in the best communication style that suits them.

The main aim of this school is to provide the integrated support they need to encourage pupils to achieve their potential and take their place in the community confidently and independently.

Responsibilities of a Waking Night Shift Support Worker:

  1. Maintain health and safety requirements and follow care and support plans.
  2. Conduct regular checks and maintain a secure environment for the residents.
  3. Ensure personal care for all residents, maintaining hygiene and cleanliness.
  4. Carry out domestic tasks.
  5. Administer medication to individuals following their treatment plan to maintain stability of their health.
  6. Keep documents and medical files up to date.
  7. Perform night-time routine with the residents.
  8. Report health or behavioural concerns regarding the individuals they support.

Requirements of a Waking Night Shift Support Worker:

  1. Equivalent experience in support or care work.
  2. Desire to work with children with special educational needs.
  3. Adaptable and proactive approach.
  4. Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude.
