Barista at brand new dessert and gelato cafe

We are a new artisan dessert and gelato house in Camberwell Green serving locally roasted coffee.

We are seeking an experienced career barista with a genuine passion for coffee to join our team on a full-time basis, working for 40 hours per week. The start date for this position will be immediate subject to your notice period.

Responsibilities:

1. Have experience as a barista at a specialist artisan coffee shop or one of the major London coffee chains. References may be requested.
2. Be exceptionally friendly, have excellent communication skills, enjoy serving customers, and generally have a passion for working with people. It is essential that you are able to maintain our standard of serving coffee to our customers in an engaging and friendly manner and build a relationship with our regular customers.
3. Pay attention to detail.
4. Be available to work on weekends and bank holidays as and when required.
5. Ideally live in, or not too far away from, Notting Hill.
6. Share our passion for a hygienic, tidy and friendly work environment.
7. Enjoy working in a small but fast-paced environment and be able to multi-task (preparing coffees, taking payment, managing stock, accepting deliveries etc).
8. Have excellent English language skills.
9. Have the legal right to work full-time in the UK.

In return we will provide you with a friendly work environment where there will be room to grow and gain new skills. We will provide an hourly rate of between £13 to £16 per hour, depending on your experience. Ideally, we would be looking to place you on a full-time employment contract with a very competitive annual salary after a probationary period. You will receive 28 days annual leave, increasing with your time with the business. You will also receive a 6 months service and 12 months service bonus in your first year. A performance-linked annual bonus will be put into place after 1 year of service.
