Job description

Situated in North Worcestershire, Redditch Borough Council manages St Davids House which is an Extra Care Scheme and houses 54 tenants within the scheme.

The role is to work closely with the wider team to contribute fully to the provision of personal care, support, and accommodation services which are designed to ensure quality of life for tenants in accordance with their assessed needs and enable and encourage people to live as independently as possible in their own homes.

The role requires you to:

  1. Carry out duties in line with associated regulations and contract requirements.
  2. Provide general support to the tenant as part of a caring, integrated team, liaising with other colleagues and services as necessary.
  3. Assist the patient with bathing, grooming, and getting dressed.
  4. Handle household tasks like general cleaning and laundry.
  5. Prepare and serve meals at the appropriate time.
  6. Administer and manage oral and topical medication.
  7. Provide mental and emotional support.
  8. Make recommendations to family members and healthcare personnel on the plan of care.
  9. Organise suitable recreational activities for the patient.
  10. Collaborate with other health care and social care professionals to provide the best possible care.
  11. Respond to emergency calls when on duty, assess the situation, and if necessary call the senior member of staff.
